MR. LAMONT MONTGOMERY

I am not sure I have the right Lamont Montgomery. The Lamont I knew I was in Vietnam with at the 18th Surgical Hospital. He was a dear friend. I grew up in Mississippi so he and I had some good discussions. We were in the same hootch together. I tried several years back to get in touch with him but all I knew was that he was from Detroit. If I have the right Lamont please accept my condolences and prayers. He was a great friend while there and had the best pressed fatigues I had ever seen. He even offered to press mine. So sorry I didn't keep up with him, but most of us just left that war behind. I will always cherish our time together and look forward to seeing him again.

Lamont, you were a true friend, not only growing up as children and teenagers, but adults as well. I continued to marvel at your continued happy outlook on life in general, being as challenged as you were. No one can say but good thoughts of you, never did i see or hear bad from you. I will miss talking to you on the phone as well as coming to Detroit for those luncheon dates. My classmate, my friend, i will truly miss you. Phillip Dalton

It’s been a while and I’ve since retired UPS, but I have fond memories of Lamont. Always a smile on his face and a hard worker that was part of the core group of guys that were considered the old timers. The high seniority group that was the backbone of our crew, dependable and fun to be around.
The nicest guy you could ever meet and I’m glad we were friends.
