Our Constance Dawn Duren was born on February 27th, 1994 to Gregory Lamar and Chrystal Dawn Duren, Sr., in Detroit, Michigan at Sinai Hospital. She was the oldest of five children. In March 1994, as an infant, Constance was baptized into The Pentecostal Church of God. She loved the Lord and her church. She was a faithful servant of the Lord as an Usher, Choir Member, Musician, Member of MEGA, and a Praying Woman, indeed. She graduated High School in June of 2013 from The Pentecostal Church of God Christian Academy. In September of that year, Constance began working at The PCA, assisting her mother. Constance enjoyed spending time with her family, playing her tambourine in church services, drawing, and dancing. Sister Constance, a beautiful soul and a gift given directly by God, exceeded the life expectancy that was predicted of her by health providers. What they didn’t realize was that God sent her and that through her maladies, OUR faith in Him would gain strength and increase; that we would learn to trust God without limits; that we would love hard; that love would not be hindered by conditions; that we would gather together to laugh hard, loud, and often; that we would dance through our troubles and trials, and when things got tough, we would cry out, “JESUS! JESUS! JESUS! …as were her final words on this Earth. Jesus, our help.! Jesus, The Great Miracle Worker! Constance was preceded in death by both of her grandfathers, Elder Steven R. Hardiman, Sr. “Poppie” and Elder John T. Duren, Sr. “Paw-Paw”; five uncles, Christopher Dwayne Hardiman, Henry Duren, Raymond Duren, Erik Wiley, and Melvin Duren; and one aunt, Phyllis Williams. Sister Constance Duren went to sleep in the Lord the morning of September 25, 2022. She leaves to cherish her loving memory, her parents, Elder & Pastor Gregory and Sister Chrystal Duren, Sr.; one brother, Minister Gregory Lamar Duren II; three sisters, Kennedi Nekele Duren, Kelsey Marie Duren, and Karissa Kamille-Nicole Duren; her loving grandmothers, Eartha Hardiman and Ophelia Duren; her great grandparents, Jessie Mae Lewis and Elder McKinley and Sister Ruth Ellis; a host of beloved aunts and uncles, Tonia Duren, Nathan Duren, Tracy (Frank) Simmons, Chandra (C. Michael) Simmons, Alicia M. Sharfner, Sandra Hardiman, Deadrea Ellison, Bridgette Seals, Geraldine Johnson, Ruth Daniels, Katie (George) Hall, Shanicka Hardiman, Auntie Brenda, Auntie Nina, Aunt Cynthia, Elder Steven (Joyce) Hardiman II, Michael L. Hardiman, Marcus Hardiman, John T (Angie) Duren, Jr., Larry Duren Sr., Charlie (Sheryl) Duren, Clarence (Linda) Duren, and many more loving aunts & uncles; an enormous number of cousins that loved her and that she loved dearly; many family friends; and last but never least, her entire family of Christ, The Pentecostal Church of God of all 4 Districts.
