MS. DELOIS CARTER's Obituary
The Obituary of Delois Carter
Delois Carter was born May 31, 1931 in Vossburg, Mississippi to the late Tommie and Lula Collins. Delois attended the Quitman Mississippi public school. She relocated to Chicago, Illinois and later relocated to Detroit, Michigan.
Delois was joined in holy matrimony to Samp Carter, Jr. and to this union 12 children were born. She later united in holy matrimony with Oscar Davis and to this union two children were born.
Delois accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at a very early age and she was a devoted member at New Kingdom Missionary Baptist Church where she served in various ministries: Usher Board, Mother's Board, kitchen committee and Pastor's Aide under the leadership of the late L. Holland and present Pastor E.M. Hatcher, Sr. for many years.
Delois loved to cook large meals for her family, the church and others every Sunday and especially during the holidays. Her house was the neighborhood home where everyone came to enjoy the holidays and gather for a good home cooked meal. She also loved to bake and was known for her homemade cakes and desserts.
Delois worked in the domestic field for over 40 years. She always loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She spoke her mind all the time and definitely kept everyone in line. Her birthday was a very special time that she loved to gather and celebrate with family each and every year.
