Although we have experienced death all of our lives, and it never gets easy, but God did send us a Comforter in his Son Jesus.

Derek Perry was a surrogate brother of the LaGrande”s. We loved him dearly. He was kind, loving, super hilarious and an overall good man.
He and Bull were not only basketball partners but they were partners in crime when it came to devouring food because they both could eat heartily.
Our prayers are with his family and we know that the angels in heaven sang joyous praises as God welcomed him with open arms.
Rest In Peace Dear Brother, you will never be forgotten.

My sympathies to the Perry Family. DP was my old friend and MSU basketball teammate. We enjoyed many great times together and both survived many hard practices. He will be missed.

I worked with Mr. Perry at Mound Correctional Facility when I was assigned to work in the school building as a corrections officer. Mr Perry was always kind, encouraging, and absolutely hilarious. He provided good advice, back then he was sort of like the older brother I never had. My sincere condolences to the Perry Family. ~Anissa (Storey) Ali
