The last time I saw DeVaughn was at his mother's funeral. (Note: Ek and my mom were bestfriends till death. I loved hearing the stories they shared with me. My favorite was how the Lord saved them: One day they had a silly idea to go see how sanctified folk act. Little did they know; the Lord was to call them into his kingdom through the preaching of the Apostle W.J. Peterson. They became two more of those sanctified folk they went to see. Ek went to sleep in Jesus and mom is still in the race until the Lord call her home). DeVaughn helped me find my $400.00 after the funeral. We had a huge laugh afterwards. Thanks DeVaughn! I would have been so mad at myself if I had lost it. DeVaughn asked mom and I to stay for dinner but we were tired and wanted to go home. I hate we didn't stay and have that last time together. Now, here we are, at your funeral saying goodbye and see you soon.
May the peace of God surround the family. Never take time with love ones for granted. Enjoy every second God give us to be together.
