Floyd Brooks' Obituary
Floyd Dave Brooks, born on July 28, 1954, in Pine Bluff, AR, passed away peacefully at his home on February 2, 2025. He was the beloved son of Dave Brooks and Dorothy Thompson.
Floyd proudly served his country in the US Army for four years and was honorably discharged. Following his service, he attended the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff for two years, where he studied Criminology. In 1978, Floyd moved to Detroit, MI, where he built a life and a career maintaining a landscaping business and occasionally working on cars.
A devoted family man, Floyd is survived by his son, Floyd Sartin (Keri Sartin), his daughter, Maleyki Whiteside, four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. His love for dogs, passion for fishing and hunting, and hands-on work ethic were evident in everything he did.
Floyd’s legacy of service, hard work, and deep commitment to family and community will be forever cherished. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
