February 9, 1954-November 18, 2020
Floyd Curtis Tennant was born on February 9th, 1954 to the union of Floyd and Shirley Tennant, in Detroit Michigan. He was the eldest of his surviving siblings Rickey Tennant and Carol Tennant. Floyd attended Pershing high school. As a young teen Floyd was a handsome man. He met Shirl Hollowell and together birthed Tamiko. Later, he married Michelle Turner and, in their union, Tissua Sherie was born.
Back in the day, Floyd was a sharp dresser. He could be seen walking up the street sharp as a tack. Dressed from head to toe. His assemble included matching hat, socks, shoes, and bag. Floyd was a dog lover. Over the years he had, had countless number of dogs. He was known to feed them whatever he was eating. On the day of his passing he was surrounded by three generations; Beauty, Shelia, and Rocky. If he was eating steak, so were they. Floyd was known as the neighborhood watchman. He was always looking out for suspicious happenings and watching the backs of his neighbors. Floyd got his exercise from riding his bike. He could be seen riding through the neighborhood, stopping at the store for groceries, to play a lottery, or just to grab a beer.
Floyd leaves behind his brother and best friend Rickey, and his loving sister Carol. His daughters; Tissua Franklin and Tamiko (Arthur) Finley, his grandchildren; Cortez and Taylor Franklin and Ashley Finely, his nieces Nevaeh Tennant and Savvanah Sullivan. His aunts Alma Smith, Betty Williams, Dorthy Birch, and Sandy Allen, and a host of other relatives and cousins.
