MS. HAILEY LOUISE MARIE DAVIS's Obituary
On September 3, 2020, our beloved Hailey Louise Marie Davis, passed away after a long and brave battle with breast cancer. We are deeply saddened by our loss.
Hailey was born on October 18, 1989 to LaMonica Ann Davis and Darryl Garrett. She attended and graduated from University Prepatory High School, Detroit MI, subsequently graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in Liberal Arts in 2011. She was employed as a manager by Tire Wholesalers, Inc., in Troy MI., at the time of her passing.
Hailey knew and loved the Lord. She attended and was baptized at Father and Son Faith Christian Center, Detroit MI., where she was more than a member to Pastor Flem Peacher, a.k.a. “Scooby” who she called “brother.” Their relationship was one of family. Through this friendship Hailey was blessed to find the work that was her passion. As a Master Dog Trainer for K9 Consultants, where she worked for “Scooby” and with a team of dedicated professionals, she did the work she loved, and she EXCELLED at it!
Hailey’s greatest love was her beautiful daughter Kai Marie Austin whom she cherished. She was a loving and devoted Mom who made it her mission to nurture and teach her daughter who she adoringly called “Princess Kai.” They loved to read books, play UNO cards, color, go to movies and to the park together. Kai would celebrate Thursdays, because she knew her Mom would have the weekend off to spend more time with her. Hailey’s love for Kai was endless and Kai feels the same.
Hailey was a special person and a positive source to all who knew her. She was kind, caring, thoughtful and unselfish in all her ways. She was the epitome of courage and resilience as she engaged in her cancer battle. Everyone who encountered her during that time was awestruck by her strength, which rarely faltered.
In her too short life, she met and touched a remarkable number of people who will mourn her passing. Although short, her life was impactful, and she will never be forgotten. We promise to use her brave example as inspiration to do our best to be the best that we can be in our own lives.
Hailey leaves to cherish and honor her memory, her precious daughter Kai Marie Austin, her parents: LaMonica A. Davis and Darryl Garrett; paternal grandmother: Mary Garrett; brother: Darryl Jr.; two sisters: Deshay Holmes and Erica Galloway; two uncles: Leslie (Beulah) and Wiley (Roberta); two aunts: Gwendolyn (Adolphus) and Melba (Thomas); a special nephew: Davion Garrett; her special friend Joseph Jones. and many loving cousins, nieces, and nephews and friends. Her maternal grandparents Wiley Davis Sr. and Hattie L. Davis preceded her in death.
