MR. JAMES FLOYD JORDAN's Obituary
Floyd was the loving husband to Doreen Jordan,
Brother to Lonnie Jordan Sr. (Katherine), Sharon Weeks and Aaliyah Salaam;
Father to Bryan Armstead, Mark Jordan (Cynthia), Kirk Jordan, Debra Singal (Adron), Tracy Hawkins and Teka Ganaway;
Grandfather of 11;
Great Grandfather of 4;
Special Cousin to Shirley-Ann (Chatter);
Friend to Butch (Tajuana), Dwight (Iris), Ron (Becky) Koko (Deb), Steve and Ann;
Hero to Stone (Rae);
and a Positive influence to a host of relatives and friends.
Floyd lived a successful life. He proudly served his Country in the United States Navy. After which, he was employed with Detroit Edison (DTE) as a service technician until he retired in 1999. Post retirement, he worked at the Atheneum Suite Hotel where he met countless City Officials, Athletes and Business Professionals, all of which knew him by name and had a great deal of affection for him.
Floyd was known for many things; his favorite past time(s) included: Roller skating, traveling, watching movies, and he was revered for his strong cooking abilities- Have you ever tasted his cornbread dressing? He was especially known for his wisdom and warm spirit. His loving personality, charisma and charming smile brightened up the room. He will forever be known for his dapper GQ style of dress and for never being seen without a brimmed hat.
Floyd will be greatly missed by all of his family, friends, and loved ones.
