MRS. JUANITA HARRIS's Obituary
On February 19, 1936, Alfred and Della Martin welcomed a beautiful baby girl, Juanita, into their life. Juanita was born in Detroit, Michigan where she lived her entire life. Juanita was an only child but grew up surrounded by a close-knit circle of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Juanita attended Commerce High School in Detroit. Soon after graduation, she met and later married James Harris, who preceded her in death. Together they had three children, LaMarr, Della Marie, and Clarissa.
Juanita accepted Christ at an early age and made sure that her children knew him too.
The door to her home was always open. On most holidays, she could be found in the kitchen early in the morning preparing to welcome family and friends. Many have fond memories of the good times that occurred there.
Juanita loved to knit, crochet, and sew, but most of all she loved plants. She was also an avid traveler who visited Alaska, Jamaica, Mexico, Hawaii, Australia, London, Paris, and Germany, among other places.
Juanita departed this life on Saturday, January 26, 2019. She was 82.
She leaves behind to mourn: her daughters, Della and Clarissa, her grandchildren, Kenneth, Jr., Brittany, and James; her great- grandchildren, Jordin and Kendrick; her son-in-law, Kenneth Sr., and nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She will join her husband, James, her son LaMarr, her mother, Della, her father Alfred, and other relatives who have gone before her to glory.
We will always love and miss her.
Rest well.
“Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.” Matthew 5:4, KJV
