There are so many memories of Auntie Donna. She definitely left her mark on this world. . . on our family. She wholeheartedly believed in family. In her younger days, she would fight for her family. As she got older, she would curse somebody out real good for her family. She was super sensitive, but she was a protector. Family was not defined by blood. It was defined by love - the love she had in her heart. And though she had no biological children, she always took care of the kids like they were her very own.
Auntie Donna was opinionated, but she was not judgemental. She would let you know what she thought, but she allowed you to make your own decisions.
Auntie was funny. At times she was down right hilarious. She would say some of the funniest, yet disgusting things, like the time she had finished eating something and I said, "You didn't offer me none." Her response, "You better catch it on the way out." It took me a minute to get it, but we laughed hysterically once I caught what she was saying.
Auntie has always had all these medical things going on, but it didn't seem like she ever let anything bother her. She was like this free spirit who believed in just living life. She did what she wanted to, when she wanted to. But that's who she was, and everything she was will truly be missed. I love you Auntie!! 😘
