Dr. Gwendolyn Avington
Uncle LeRoy came to my high school basketball game on one of his visits to Arkansas when I was a teenager. He was driving a van that had a PA system and took us to our game. When it was over, he talked on the PA system and all of my teenage friends that I was pretty cool to have an uncle from out state with the fancy van with a PA system. At 13, everything seems awkward, but Uncle LeRoy and Aunt Orsie had a way of making you feel like you were extra special. Uncle LeRoy was giving and loving and was a huge male heavyweight in my life, as my dad died when I was 9 years old. I am so glad, he is my uncle and that he taught me how to live life bold and become anything I wanted to be. I am now Dr. Gwendolyn Avington and fully believe it is watching my uncle and his siblings achieve any and all the things they wanted to in this world! Love was a central theme I remember of my uncle and for that I am grateful. Rest in Peace Uncle LeRoy, I love you!
Your Neice, Gwendolyn Avington
