In fond remembrance...

Ms. Pearlie Kemp, was pure laughter, high energy and full surprises. I still remember the day I came home from school to find a special surprise awaiting me. It was a new jacket and purse; —small treasures that made me glow because they showed she was thinking of me. Her thoughtfulness was constant and comforting.
Sundays at her house after church were some of my happiest memories with her family. These times consisted of warm meals, easy conversation, and the gentle rhythm of family. I loved spending time with Peachy.
I’ll always be grateful for the patience Pearlie and Kemp showed as they taught me how to play spades. Those lessons were about more than cards — they were lessons in kindness, presence, and shared joy.
Pearlie and Bug were also the first care providers to my daughter when she was born and I was returning to work. I took great comfort in knowing she was safe in their care.
