Dear Friend, I am know that you are walking the Golden Streets of Heaven in style like you walked here on earth. You had impeccable style as was the gift of the Williams family. You stayed sharp! It was such a pleasure knowing you and having you as a childhood friend. It was equally joyful having you as a boss. You gave me the opportunity as Library Director to give back to the community that I loved, Ecorse, Michigan. I will miss you, dear friend. I will cherish great memories of you,old and new. Until I see you again, REST in Heaven!
My condolences to the family of Mr. Reginald Bernard Williams. So well do I remember playing cards in the backyard of Reggie's cousins, the Robinsons, on 17th Street Ecorse in the 1960s. Reggie was witty, kind, and good-looking. When he asked me to the River Rouge Junior Prom in 1964, I happily accepted, and we had as much fun as an awkward 17- and 16-year-old might have expected. Dressed nattily in his tux, he brought me the requisite corsage and off we went to dance, joke, and enjoy the catered sit-down dinner. As is often the case, we took divergent paths in life and had little contact thereafter, but I have always treasured the memory of my first real date with such a fine young man. Reggie, I am certain, leaves all who knew him with fond memories of his intelligence, sense of humor, kindness, and impeccable style. Rest In Peace, dear friend!
